Dibrugarh University Announces Ph.D. Admission for 2024-25 | Applications Invited for DURAT Exempted Candidates

The notice from Dibrugarh University announces the admission process for the Ph.D. program for the session 2024-25. It is specifically for candidates who are exempted from appearing in the Dibrugarh University Research Admission Test (DURAT). The details are as follows:

 Eligible Candidates 

1. Candidates who have qualified CSIR/UGC NET-JRF.
2. Candidates with research fellowships from national level government/semi-government funding agencies.
3. Candidates who have completed an M.Phil. program in regular mode in the concerned subject.

Subjects Available for Ph.D. Admission

The subjects range from Assamese and History to various Engineering disciplines like Petroleum Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Master’s Degree Requirements:
   - A 1-year/2-semester Master's degree after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor's degree.
   - A 2-year/4-semester Master's degree after a 3-year Bachelor's degree.
   - Equivalent qualifications as recognized by statutory bodies, with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
   - Candidates with a 4-year Bachelor's degree need a minimum of 75% marks.

2. Relaxations:
   - 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC, Differently-Abled, and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

3. **Other Qualifications:**
   - Candidates with B.E/B.Tech. and a valid JRF-GATE score.
   - Candidates can enroll in related subjects with evidence of competency.

Application Procedure

1. **Online Registration:**
   - Register on the portal via the Dibrugarh University website.
   - Use OTP for activation and login.
   
2. **Application Fee:**
   - Rs. 950 to be paid online via Debit/Credit Card or Internet Banking.

3. **Submission of Documents:**
   - Print out the application form and fee receipt.
   - Submit along with self-attested copies of relevant documents (e.g., award letters, M.Phil. certificates, mark sheets, caste certificates, NOC if employed) at the concerned department.

- **Last Date of Online Application:**  18/08/2024 (till 11:59 pm)
- **Submission of Documents:**  By 20/08/2024 (till 5:00 pm)

 Admission Procedure

1. **Viva Voce Examination:**
   - 100% weightage for exempted candidates.
   - Final merit lists will be prepared and posted on the university website.

2. **Admission Fees:**
   - Rs. 6,000 (Rs. 2,000 for M.Phil. passed candidates) to be paid online during admission.

3. **Completion of Admission Process:**
   - By 06/09/2024.
